Welcome to the Orange Blossom Owner Handlers Association of Florida


MISSION STATEMENT

OBOHA follows the basic principles as established by the Owner Handler Association of America, Inc. The main objectives of the national association and our local chapter are as follows:

  • To encourage and promote the sport of owner training and handling of dogs.
  • To encourage and promote sportsmanship among the dog fancy.
  • To educate and communicate about the dog fancy.

An individual wishing to join our Chapter must become a member of the National organization and agree to abide by the Code of Ethics as established by the national club. If you are interested in joining please contact Dale Parks. (CONTACT)


MAJOR ACCOMPLISHMENTS

We have sponsored and co-sponsored many all-day and weekend handling seminars presented by George Alston, Ron Hahn, Wayne Custis, and Eric and Nancy Leibes, a K-9 Movement and Structure Seminar presented by Ed and Pat Gilbert and the Conquering Your Nerves seminar by Diane Peters Mayer to be held on September 26, 2004. We held our first Owner/Handler match last year on the Florida circuit and look forward to doing it again this year. For more information go to match page.


Each year we hold our annual Awards Banquet to honor our members with the higest points earned competing in all AKC events throughout the year (calculated with OBOHA's scale. (Award Pictures)


OBOHA contributes 10% of the net profit from Chapter activities to two very important and vital organizations:
