OBOHA had it's 5th Annual C Match on Friday night, January 4th, 2008!!! We had a nice turnout with 11 signing up for the Match & 9 actually participated in the Match.

I would like to thank the Greater Daytona Dog Fanciers Association for providing us catalog space & two Rings at no charge to the Club.. We couldn't do this every year if it wasn't for their generosity!!! Dale Parks, our Corresponding Secretary & Janet Narushka our 2nd Vice President.... a Big Thanks to you for helping arrange the Match & taking pre-entries & paperwork.

A Big Thanks also goes to Susan Schrank, one of our newer Members, who came all the way up from Apopka to man the Registration Table with me on Friday.

We had a a nice variety of dogs & breeds....with Toys in the majority...Chihuahuas...long & short hair, a Japanese Chin & a Yorkie. Other breeds included a Golden, English Springer, Parti-Color Cocker, an Aussie & a Portuguese Water Dog. The two handlers that didn't show up had Tibetan Mastiffs...rather new to the AKC Registry.

Our two Judges were OBOHA Members Nancy Rahn-Virden & John Mello. They did a wonderful job of helping handlers present their dogs to their BEST Advantage & I feel every participant walked away with a bit of helpful knowledge to help them in reaching their Goals. Thank You John & Nancy for taking the time to share your knowledge & expertise with others. I feel this is a big part of what a good Owner Handler should for our Sport.

Judging was a bit different this year. We had a Seasoned Handling Class & a Newbie Handling class. Each Judge critiqued the handlers in their respective class after which 1st through 4th Medals were Awarded. The two First Place Metal winners then competed for Best Handler In Match.

CONGRATULATIONS TO All---ALL of you are winners for coming out in good sportsmanship & improving your handling skills!
