Presidents Message: Helping Fellow Owner Handlers!!!!!

Our local owner handler Chapter is very spread out over the state & it’s really hard for us to get together as a Group & help each other with our handling skills!!! My vision for this Club was for Members that live near each other could get together form time to time & critique each others handling skills to help improve overall performance. I’m including the latest Roster so you all can see who lives close enough to you to get together for practice!

Another way to improve is to meet fellow Club Members at their Ring at a Show & critique handling skills right in ‘the field’ so to speak!!! I know most of you go to the same shows…so try to get together this way.. if you’re going to Beat The Pros….. you need to improve your skills!!!!!!! There were some Specialties at the Orlando Shows & I know some of you had some nice wins… so please send in your Brags for posting!!!

I hope to see you at the Corky Vroom Handling Seminar either in a Working Spot or Observer spot. Your bound to get some Great Pearls from this very successful Professional Handler!!!

Since having to change the time to 10:00 am, we had a few members come by, but no formal meeting. Our next Meeting will be in Ocala in November. Details later. I met with the following Members: Tom & Joanne Hell, Cathy Walker, Sara Dondei-Blood, & our Newest Member, Ken Stowell. Ken has Chihuahuas- 2 Finished & 2 on the way to being Finished…which is fantastic since he’s a Newbie to the Sport!!!!

I also spoke with several other OBOHA Members & delivered their Club Awards to them. A BIG CONGRATS to Owner Handler Of The Year 2005, Joanne Hell & to our Award Of Merit Winners, Cathy Nirenberg, Margie Sarkin & Sandra Moruzzi.. Most of the Winners received most of their Points from performance events!!!!! WOO-WOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OLD BUSINESS The Vroom Seminar is almost filled. We will take Observers the Day of Seminar, so you can still come last minute !!!

TREASURERS REPORTTom Hell reports the OBOHA currently has $9000 plus in the Bank. So we have a very healthy Treasury & will be able to contribute to our 2 Charities, Take The Lead & The Canine Health Foundation after the Vroom Seminar!!!!

NEW BUSINESS We have scheduled Pat Hastings Seminar’ Structure In Movement’ for August 4th 2007. It will be held at Best Paw Forward in Sanford, FL. More details later. A deposit has been sent & it’s on her web site www.dogfolk.com & on the AKC Seminar list as well!! She will be doing the Puppy Puzzle, so if any of you have a litter that will be 8 weeks (plus or minus 3 days) at that time...let me know.
